Prince William Forest Park continues to celebrate their 75th anniversary by putting on fun events. Volunteer opportunites are many!
The 11th annual Chopawamsic Cycle Challenge
Sunday, September 11th
10 volunteers are needed to help out. Volunteers need to be 16 years or older and be able to work on their own for periods of 30 minutes to one hour. Volunteers will be controlling the traffic of riders. Two or three volunteers will be taking pictures of the event from several points on the course. Volunteers need to arrive at the Pine Grove Ball Field at 8am for the briefing and to get positioned on the course before the 9am start. They will be provided with orange vests to make sure they are visible to participants and park regulars. They will finish at noon. Volunteers will be provided lunch! National Public Lands Day
Saturday, September 24th
Even at the Oak Ridge Campground. Volunteers will rehab many different areas of the campground including painting and staining sheds and signs,installing fire rings, cleaning up camp sites, etc. The event will take place from 8-12 and lunch will be provided by REI.
The 2011 Heritage Festival
Saturday,October15th
Event at Cabin Camp 3 . This event celebrates the history of Prince William Forest Park with live demonstrations, music, kids activities and much more.
30 volunteers are needed to make this fun event really shine.Volunteers will serve as information providers, runners, kids cabin assistants, traffic directors, etc.
