Morgan Nationals 2010 - Congratulations to Albemarle County

I am proud to report the results of the Morgan Grand National and World Championship Morgan Horse Show in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The show lasted seven days and is the largest one for the Morgan breed. Part of the show was the Youth Judging Contest, which consisted of judging eight classes of Morgans; four halter and four performance. Later in the afternoon contestants were required to give four sets of reasons on the classes that they judged earlier. The Awards Ceremony occurred the next morning, where ribbons were given out to the top ten individuals and teams in different age groups.

Participating in the Youth Judging Contest were four girls from Albemarle County, Virginia: Andrea Oliver, Julia Wenger, Casey Brown, and Hannah Ho. Accompanying them as their coach was Bertha Durbin. As individuals, Andrea placed 1st in Performance, 3rd in Reasons, and 1st Overall; Julia placed 7th Overall; Hannah placed 8th Overall; and Casey placed 9th Overall. As a team they won 3rd in Halter, 1st in Performance, 1st in Reasons and Reserve Champion team Overall! Members received huge ribbons and beautiful wooden plaques.

Written for distribution by Hannah Ho - Albemarle County!
