50th Anniversary Southwest Virginia 4-H Educational Center

Event:               Southwest Virginia 4-H Educational Center’s 50th Anniversary Celebration!!!

Information:      The Southwest Virginia 4-H Educational Center opened its doors for youth camping in 1960.  This summer marks the 50th year of 4-H camping at this 78 acre facility in Abingdon, VA.  One of the many highlights to this celebration will be the Camp Staff Alumni Dinner on Friday, August 6th beginning at 5:00 PM.  The 4-H Center is looking for addresses and contact information of former Camp Staff to ensure that everyone is reached and has an opportunity attend this event.  If you are an alumni please contact us and plan to attend.

                        August 7th highlights a day full of energy and excitement with activities that demonstrate the 50 years of camping and everyone is invited to join us.  Come take a walk down memory lane or just come check out the 4-H Center.  Schedule of events in clude:  Geo-caching, Music, Storytelling, Tractor and Car Shows, 4-H Camp Classes,  history, swimming, food, games, hikes, auctions, and much more!  There will also be a ground breaking ceremony at 2:00 PM for the new boys lodging facility.  All activities and parking is free.  A Barbeque lunch will be served between 11:30-2:00pm for a fee.

                        Bring your families and a smile to help the Southwest Virginia 4-H Educational Center celebrate its GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY!
