Sandy and Sydney Arnold are sending out a great big THANK YOU to all who helped out to make Nokesville Day 2010 such a great success.
The Raffle Table raised $130.00! Many thanks to all who donated items to create such attractive baskets. A special thanks to Cindy Puryear for assembling the baskets and making them look gorgeous, the Owsenek, Lerch and Lackey families for spending their time sitting at the Raffle table selling tickets, Ms. Sandy for drawing the winning tickets, and Mr. Lerch and Mr. O’Leary for cleaning up afterwards. The winners were: Popcorn Basket ~ Yohn Family, Ice Cream Basket ~ Ganzert Family, Baking Basket ~ Lois Cross.
The Parade Float was a huge success! We had kids, we had chickens, we had balloons, pom-poms, decorations and even a go-kart! I think everyone had a very fun time. Many thanks to all the hands that helped decorate, and to all the kids that rode on the float and showed such 4-H spirit as we rolled down Fitzwater Drive. Special thanks to the Baker family for transporting the 200 balloons to the high school, and for bringing the go-kart, the Arnold Family for providing the hay bales, the Lerch family for providing the chickens and the very handsome Rooster, and all who helped clean up the hay wagon afterwards. We also thanked Pap Stanto (Evan, Jackie, Andy & Ryan’s grandpa) for all the work he did on the float prior to the big event, and special thanks to the tractor driver ~ Mr. Nguyen.
The Yard Sale - we made about $1,000 for the church! We are so appreciative of the church for allowing us free use of their facility year-round for general club and project meetings and this is our way to show our club appreciation - all in a very successful and fun one-day event!! It was a huge success thanks to our fearless organizer, Kendra Guber, for arranging coordination efforts on signage (that brought in a lot of customers!!), setting up, taking down, lining up our volunteer slots and making sure that we had a place to move the leftovers when done (donations went to the BARNS, women's shelter). Thank you to all who were able to volunteer on behalf of the club for a time slot and for all of those who helped in one way or another with cleanup, setting up and signage.
Thanks again to all for making this day successful, fun and memorable.
